LESLEY COYLE

Lesley Coyle is a writer, children's yoga instructor, kinship foster carer, and Kinship Ambassador, as well as a co-steward of Indigenous UK Weather.

From childhood walks along the River Thames to daily explorations across Dorset's hedgerows and coastline, nature has always been her sanctuary. What began as a love of the outdoors has evolved into a deeper calling: helping children and families reconnect with the steady rhythms of the natural world.

Lesley holds extensive Level 3 training in children's wellbeing and therapeutic parenting, equipping her with a deep understanding of how environments, relationships and regulation shape young lives. As both a kinship foster carer and appointed Kinship Ambassador, she advocates for children in kinship care and works to strengthen the support systems around them.

A qualified children's yoga instructor since 2018 and paediatric first aid trained, she blends movement, mindfulness, storytelling and seasonal awareness to nurture resilience, emotional regulation, and confidence in young people.

Since relocating to Dorset in 2023, Lesley trained under the mentorship of David King in the art of traditional long-range forecasting. Combining ancient weather lore with daily observation and careful data gathering, she now continues and develops Dave's legacy with integrity and care. Much of this observation takes place on long walks accompanied by her beloved dog, Bailey - a steady companion in all seasons.

At the heart of her work is community. Lesley believes wisdom should be shared across generations - from seasoned country observers to children just learning the names of trees. Through writing, seasonal updates, and collaborative projects, she creates spaces where people can slow down, look up, and reconnect.

Indigenous UK Weather continues as both a tribute to Dave and a growing platform for seasonal wisdom, storytelling, and nature-led resilience for family and communities.

DAVID ANDREWS

David Andrews lives in Kent and first discovered Dave on television in 2018. What began as curiosity soon grew into years of conversation, learning and shared fascination with traditional weather lore.

In September 2025, David joined Dave and Lesley on what would become Dave's final walk - a day that holds deep personal meaning. Dave welcomed him into his home, sharing stories, soup, strong coffee, and the kind of quiet wisdom that stays with you.

David now works alongside Lesley to continue and develop Indigenous UK Weather, supporting filming, content creation, and the careful organisation of data behind the scenes. A self-confessed spreadsheet whizz, he plays a key role in tracking patterns, mapping lunar cycles (currently extended through to 2031), and helping to piece together the clues nature offers daily.

Working nightshifts gives David a unique vantage point. While much of the country sleeps, he observes the skies, shifting winds and subtle overnight changes that often shape what's ahead. This nocturnal watch adds another layer to the project's evolving understanding of seasonal patterns.

As Dave often said, everything we need to know is there - we simply have to learn how to see it.
